Applied Cryptography
Module Type: Optional
Module Code: 956
Syllabus: Information security, simple cryptographic systems, symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, DES-DEA systems, digital signatures, hash functions, key management, certification, validation, authentication, pseudo random codes. Applications in e-commerce.
Module Aims-Objectives: Offer students an insight in latest technologies in applied cryptography and data cryptographic and de-cryptographic techniques, presenting various algorithms and offering practical guidelines for their application.
Upon completing this module students will be able to use cryptographic techniques for the secure management of confidential data in all means of electronic communications and software applications.
