Course description

Telecommunication Systems Ι
Module Type: Telecommunications and Networks Track
Module Code: 542Τ
Syllabus: Structure of a basic telecommunications system. Analogue signal modulation, amplitude (ΑΜ), frequency (FΜ) and phase (ΡΜ) modulation. Noise and interference effects on modulated signals. Analogue modulation of digital signals: FSK, PSK, ASK, QPSK, multiplexing, frequency division multiplexing (FDM).
Module Aims-Objectives: To explain transmission and detection techniques for analogue signals.
Upon completing this module students should be able to interpret issues concerning analogue telecommunications signals.
